I'm sick and tired of seeing people complain about the epithet "Teabaggers". The Tea Party coined the phrase at the beginning of 2009. They started websites, which are still up and running, which referred to themselves as "teabaggers". They even carried signs that were, in effect, a threat to perform a sexual act against the president and other politicians - "Teabag Obama" and "Teabag Washington, D.C.". Now they are angry because Obama is using the sexual term they threatened him with against them. They lost all right to complain when they coined the phrase, created websites and tee shirts with the slogan, and carried "teabag" signs. They thought it was cute to use the term in an effort to humiliate the President by planting images in people's minds of Obama being sexually subjugated. They knew full well what they were saying, which is why their signs were worded as they were and did not instead say "Send Tea Bags to Obama". Now they want to cry foul? Too late. As the saying goes, you reap what you sow.
Here are just a handful of links proving that the term was used first (and proudly) by the tea party.
Some of the earliest websites created which used the term "teabaggers" or "tea bag washington", etc."
