Van Butler Perry, 59, was arrested Thursday on a charge of misdemeanor battery and booked into the Manatee County jail, according to a police report obtained by the website The Smoking Gun.

His wife told an officer she was having trouble with her home computer and asked Perry for help.

They got into an argument, during which the woman used God's name in vain "out of anger," according to the report.

Perry admitted to the officer that he "did not like what he heard and smacked her upside the head."
