What a world. A man can shoot a teenager dead for no reason at all and then capitalize upon his heinous actions by soliciting donations. Simply amazing and utterly despicable.
Now, I have a general question about PayPal donations and transaction fees. I know that there is a $.0.30 fee for money transfers. Is this payable by the recipient or the seller? What happens if people donate a penny or a nickel to someone's account? Would the person be charged a transaction fee for each and every donation no matter how small? In other words, could such a donation site cost the recipient money if the transactions were very, very tiny - pennies, perhaps?
UPDATE: I just found this link via the PayPal site:
https://merchant.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=merchant/donations
Fees are 2.2% PLUS a 30 cent fee per transaction.
Very interesting. So if someone were to donate less than .30, it WOULD cost the recipient money.
