Santorum Cites Racist Author To Defend Views On 'The Dangers Of Contraception'

First of all, Santorum’s decision to justify his skepticism of contraception by citing the problem of unwed mothers is like something out of the Bizarro Planet. Here in the actual world, contraception is the solution to the problem of unplanned pregnancies, not the cause.

Likewise, Santourm’s decision to rely on Charles Murray is no less distressing. Murray co-authored The Bell Curve, which argues that black people score lower on IQ tests because they are genetically inferior to whites. To reach this conclusion, Murray relied on studies backed by the Pioneer Fund, whose original mission was to pursue “race betterment” for people “deemed to be descended predominantly from white persons who settled in the original thirteen states prior to the adoption of the Constitution.”

I've read a few things by Charles Murray and his racist views are very, very disturbing. Santorum should be ashamed to be reading such crap, much less using it to back his extremist views.

Ya know we do have a problem in America.

We have become so pleasure oriented, that we want satisfaction and happiness out of every act we do. Nothing would give me greater imediate satisfaction than to remove -the so called conservatives, tea party John Birchers, and social conservatives- from being able to control society for their gain.

Now I'm not going to say we don't have problems in America. But I really think it all goes back to greed and pride.

The self serving hypocrites have taken control and they want us to think like them !!!

Gotta consider the possibility that that moron Santorum simply didn't bother to read anything other than what Google spit out on a quick search...it does fit it in rather consistently with the rest of his bass-ackwards views though.

I watched a very disturbing Criminal Minds last night that featured a mayoral race in which the one candidate was inciting a Manson type killing spree... one line in there was the "browning of America". I found the episode apropos of what is occurring today in our political arena...

And once again Santorum refuses to speak about real issues & remains imbedded between a woman's legs...

I have no doubt. When a woman is expected to only have sex to procreate - kind of take the enjoyment factor out of it & it doesn't appear to me that he would give a @!$%# if she ever had an orgasm.

When a person takes a dead fetus home to show his other siblings to me that is some kind of macabre behavior.....And this person actually wants to be president!!

Ricky is one sick person; and yet look at the size of his following. Cowboygrandpa is correct, we do have problem in America, but greed is just a small part.

You would hope? What was Newt's wifes comment about no longer having an opinion? There seems to be an absence of true voice being heard directly from some of the Women' Rights Groups. (NOW and others) There is a lot of very good women speaking out individually although there seems to be a conspicuous absence of voices directly from these organizations. I find this a bit odd. I would think they would all be center stage and yelling. If they need help my wife would be glad to help them and I would help her. This is nuts.

GA Girl-#3: I agree with you on merit. But, apparently some women will prove their stupidity.

As for men? Being one, I know that many of my gender have been there for too long.

Santorum continues to overshow his hand - such an unfortunate trait in a "frontrunner". Now he'll have to argue in front of the cameras about how he really isn't racist. Didn't he learn when he put himself in this position before with homophobia, zealotry, and sexism? And didn't he fail at those attempts? It seems we have the entire bigot package with this guy!

As a descendant of people who were born here before the colonies became states, Rick your a idiot. To think that I am better then others because my ancestors were here before theres is sheer stupidity.
