Six-year-old Saniya and her mother watched as city leaders put out a plea for the public's help catching the men responsible for a hate crime outside the AMC 20 movie theater at Seven Mile and Haggerty last Tuesday afternoon around 2:15.
Saniya had just seen "The Smurfs" with her parents. As they walked to their car, a truck drove by and the guys inside threw pop in Saniya's face and drove off making animal noises, yelling "monkeys" and "baboons."
