By now most people are familiar with the Casey Anthony story. Casey Anthony is the mother who has been accused of murdering her two year old daughter, Caylee and dumping her body in the woods near her home.
Yesterday, Casey's mother, Cindy Anthony, took the stand and claimed that she had performed an internet search for the term "chloroform", which is a key piece of evidence for the prosecution, which claims that Casey killed her daughter using chloroform. Cindy claimed that she was actually trying to search for chlorophyll, because she was concerned that her dogs might be eating bamboo in her yard, which could sicken them.
The problems with Cindy's testimony are that that time cards show that she was at work during the time those searches were made on her home computer, and that the search terms specifically included the phrase "how to make chloroform" - not simply "chloroform".
I believe that Cindy is lying to cover up for her daughter, who I also believe is guilty.
If Casey were your daughter, would you lie to cover for her? If your granddaughter were murdered, and the only suspect was your daughter, who had performed a search for terms such as "how to make chloroform" and "neck breaking", could you perjure yourself to try to get her acquitted? Or would you tell the truth and let justice be served, no matter the outcome?
