"Minorities seem to have everything handed to them". This statement that I came across while reading comments on a news forum gave me an idea. If people really believe that minorities have an easy time of it and are handed money via welfare, food stamps, free health care, housing, etc., why not perform a little test. Would those of you who truly believe this be willing to go down to your town's welfare office right now and claim that you are a minority? Claim you are bi-racial. Nobody can prove otherwise. Claim Argentine heritage: Argentina is a melting pot full of many, many Europeans, yet its South American location qualifies its population as "hispanic". You could even go so far as to claim African-American heritage; weren't two of Michael Jackson's kids porcelain-skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes? The point is, nobody can prove your ethnic heritage either way; and if the claim is that anyone with a minority background is automatically given money, you shouldn't have any problems. Claim minority status and demand welfare and other subsidies. Let's see whether or not you are correct and someone suddenly hands you a wad of cash and the keys to a brand new SUV.
In the meantime, maybe you could explain to us why so many people who have "everything handed to them" live in poor neighborhoods in substandard housing. Why haven't they gotten their mansions yet? Where are their jobs as CEOs?
